I’m a Baked Potato
By Elise Primavera, Art by Juana Medina
“I’m A Baked Potato!” takes us on an adventure with a little dog, who thinks he is a baked potato, as he tries to find his way home. The little baked potato meets other dogs, foxes, and owls that teach him about himself and the world around him.
R, aged 10, loved the little details that are put into the background illustrations and how the pictures looked. There were so many background pieces she liked to look for while reading. She also loves dogs, so she adored that the book followed around a dog.
I would recommend this book to young readers between 4 and 6, who might enjoy reading this book over and over. Though it’s simple plot lends itself well to younger readers, any child with a love of dogs will adore this book, just like R! With it’s bright illustrations, readers and caregivers alike would delight in this fun picture book.
Until next time,
Maddie
