If your child has told you that “they’re bored” a few times this summer, I have the perfect book for you!

The Boring Book by Shinsuke Yoshitake follows a young boy as he ponders what he should do while bored. He asks himself why things are boring and what makes people bored, all while trying to figure out how to not be bored. The Boring Book is really anything but boring, with its fun and interactive pictures and interactive questions.

This is the perfect book to hand your child when they tell you they’re bored for the millionth time. If reading together, I’d suggest taking time to think through the questions the character asks, if certain scenarios would be fun, and what makes them bored, there’s plenty of time for talking!

Even my 11-year-old sister, R, likes to look through this book! She has taken it out of my bag several times to admire the pictures.
